U.S. BANK FIFTH ANNUAL GALENA PARADE OF HOMES
SHOWCASES TEN LUXURY HOMES
October 13/14 from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
GALENA, Il. Sept. 17, 2007 -- U.S.
Bank’s fifth annual Parade of Homes, which will be held from
10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 13 and Sunday,
October 14, showcases different elements working in
harmony, demonstrating how the smallest details can produce
dramatic results.
According to
B’Ann Dittmar, U.S. Bank
Galena market president, “This
year’s homes have been thoughtfully designed and carefully
constructed with a full spectrum of original elements, from
making your home a personal retreat to providing the ultimate in
home entertaining. We have several home styles on display, from
a quaint townhome to a super-sized, eight-bedroom, timber-framed
home that is privately owned, but available as a rental for
family reunions, business retreats, or for intimate wedding
receptions. Two homes on our tour are worth more than $1
million.”
Parade-goers can preview the area’s best builders, landscapers
and interior designers while getting a glimpse of technology
trends in the new homes located in Galena Territory or just
outside of it, near the Elizabeth Scenic Tower. Some of the
must see features found in this year’s parade tour include:
-
luxurious hot tubs, both indoors and out
- wrap
around porches and bedroom balconies
-
energy efficient features such as walk-around fireplaces and
electric
in-floor heating
- private
conference room with custom conference table
- hickory
library with built-in alcove seating
-
full-length windows that
stretch through expansive rooms and up
cathedral ceilings
-
wood flooring harvested from
barns in Wisconsin and Minnesota
-
gourmet kitchens complete with
built-in stainless steel appliances, granite countertops
-
striking spacious great rooms
and getaway entertainment centers
-
for car lovers, a three-stall,
40.6’ x 26’ monster garage lavishly finished and custom
trimmed in ash and cherry and features built-in cabinets and
hot water.
Dittmar said that grilled sandwiches,
deserts and beverages will be available by Cindy’s Classic
Catering for parade goers at tour home #5, located at 22 Hickory
Tail in the Galena Territory. Profits from the lunch and all
ticket proceeds from the event will
benefit local
nonprofit organizations, including Habitat for Humanity
of Jo Daviess County, Caregivers Support Group, and Tyler’s
Justice Center for Children- Building Campaign. In the past five
years, nearly
$50,000 has been raised from this annual U.S. Bank event.
Dittmar
indicated that U.S. Bank Galena employees spend about six months
each year coordinating the many volunteers, sponsors and
builders to create a meaningful tour while raising funds for
local organizations that serve a critical role in the
community. “We’re thrilled with how it has grown due to the
enthusiasm of parade-goers who travel from near and far.
Our volunteers especially enjoy meeting those who
qualify for our drawing of a $500
U.S. savings bond if they make it to all of the
homes on the tour.”
Discounted parade tickets for $8 and free copies
of the U.S. Bank Parade of Homes guides, including detailed
maps, will be available starting October 1st at the
U.S. Bank Galena office at
115 Perry Street and
953 Gear Street. Parade tickets also can be obtained at Dubuque
U.S. Bank offices, or in the Galena Territory at Eagle Ridge Inn
or at Spike's Bar and Grill.
All Parade
homes will be clearly marked, and tickets to the event and maps
can be obtained at each home on the day of the event.
